KINGDOM QUEST BIBLE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

Kingdom Quest Bible is a Bible reading app for kids, made by Kingdom Quest, LLC (“we,” “us”). We built it for families, and we take kids’ privacy seriously. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices parents have.

We follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not show ads, and we do not sell or rent anyone’s personal information.

The short version

  • A parent sets up the account. Kids play under a profile the parent creates.
  • For kids, we only keep what the app needs to work, like a first name or nickname, a birthdate, an avatar and reading progress.
  • No ads, no chat, no contact with strangers, no location tracking.
  • Parents can see, change, or delete their child’s information at any time.

Information we collect from parents

When a parent creates an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Password (stored in encrypted form)
  • A record of your agreement to this policy and of your parental consent, with the date
  • Subscription status from Apple or Google (we never receive your card number)
  • Messages you send to our support team

Information we collect about children

With a parent’s consent, we collect only what’s needed for the app to work:

  • First name or nickname (we suggest not using a full name)
  • Birthdate, so we can show age-appropriate lessons and characters
  • Gender (boy or girl), used only to choose the characters that guide your child through the app
  • Avatar choice
  • Settings the parent chooses: reading level, daily goal, reminder time and Bible translation
  • Time zone, so streaks and daily goals follow your child’s day
  • Reading progress: lessons completed, answers to lesson questions, memory verses, streaks, points, gems and badges

We do not ask kids for their email, phone number, address, photos, voice recordings, or location.

Information collected automatically

Like most apps, the app collects basic technical information so it runs properly: device type, operating system version, app version, crash reports, a device identifier used only to keep the app working, and, if reminders are turned on, a notification token so we can send them. We use this only for internal operations like fixing bugs, keeping the app secure, and understanding which features are used. We do not use it to build profiles of children or to show ads.

How we get parental consent

Kids cannot create an account on their own. A parent must create the account, confirm they are an adult, and agree to this policy. We then email the parent a consent request that explains what we collect and why. A child profile can only be set up after the parent opens that email and confirms consent. At least a day later, we send a second email confirming the consent and explaining how to revoke it.

If we learn that we collected personal information from a child without a parent’s consent, we will delete it.

How we use information

  • To run the app and save each child’s progress
  • To show age-appropriate lessons
  • To process subscriptions through Apple or Google
  • To respond to support requests
  • To send parents account and service emails (and, if you opt in, occasional updates you can unsubscribe from)
  • To keep the app safe and fix problems

We never send marketing to children.

Who we share information with

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the app. They may use the information only to provide services to us and must protect it:
    • Laravel Cloud: hosting and database
    • Resend: delivering emails to parents
    • Laravel Nightwatch: error monitoring and crash reports
    • RevenueCat: managing subscriptions bought through Apple or Google
    • YouVersion: Bible text
    • Anthropic: AI help drafting lesson content (it receives no information about children)
  • Apple and Google, to handle purchases and age signals required by app store rules and state laws.
  • Legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
  • A buyer of our business, if the company is sold, under the same protections in this policy.

How long we keep information

We keep a child’s information only as long as the account is active. If a parent revokes consent or deletes the account, we delete that information within 30 days, including from backups, except where the law requires us to keep something (such as purchase records).

How we protect information

We keep a written information security program. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to people who need it to do their jobs, and we review our safeguards regularly. No system is perfect, but we work hard to protect your family’s information.

Parents’ rights and choices

Parents can, at any time:

  • Review the information we have about their child in the app’s grown-ups area (behind a parental gate)
  • Correct or update it
  • Revoke consent in the grown-ups area, which stops further collection and deletes their child’s information
  • Delete the whole account in the grown-ups area, or on the web at kingdomquestbible.com/account/delete
  • Contact us at team@kingdomquestbible.com for any of the above

We will respond to verified requests within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we will honor them.

Bible text

Scripture in the app is from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. If a parent chooses a different translation, its text is provided by YouVersion under that publisher’s license.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to how we handle children’s information, we will notify parents by email and ask for consent again where the law requires it. The effective date at the top always shows the latest version.
